This guy is probably going to find more people that hate X group in prison. They are often praised for protecting specific "ideals." I think part of the problem comes from the fact that people are unable to branch out or to drop their pre-concieved notions and explore difference. What about the guys that show up outside of Mosques brandishing their firearms? That is terrorism and hatred too. If this guy went out and burned a flag that is a hate crime but 16 years is stupid and it is inconsistent. I happen to be a mixed race, queer, spiritually open, and artistically inclined individual and en it. People even loose their shit about what music you listen to or what color of clothing you wear.
#Man get years for burning gay flag skin
You've got the skin color thing, the religion thing, the sexual orientation thing. There is still a lot of hatred towards anyone who is different. Adolfo Martinez, 30, of Ames, was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years for the hate crime of arson and given a year for reckless use of explosives or fire and 30 days for harassment. I guess it is the new "thing" people probably didn't know much about what that was twenty years ago. NEVADA, Iowa (AP) A man has been imprisoned for burning an LGBTQ flag that was flying at a church in central Iowa. Hatred towards LGB and Q individuals has decreased a lot since I was younger but hatred towards trans people seems to be becoming more normalized. An Iowa man who set fire to a church LGBTQ flag in June was sentenced Wednesday to over 15 years in prison. I would think that Adolfo Martinez stands to win a lot of money if he files a lawsuit. One of my friends growing up hung himself because of harassment about being gay. Go fuck yourselves If burning the American Flag is legal, then burning the Gay flag is legal as well. If you're different you tend to have a lot of hatred directed towards you.
